On October 18th 2010, the new cardiopulmonary resuscitation guidelines where posted from the European Resuscitation Council. These new guidelines that will cover the period 2011 – 2015 emphasize the importance of chest compressions to a non-breathing patient. The new ERC Guidelines clearly recommend using AEDs because early defibrillation, in addition to chest compressions, may save the lives of many SCA victims.
Some important changes have influence our training on child and infant CPR, the depth of the compression and the importance chest compressions.
